The difference between an options list and a commission is authorship. A Tailor Made car begins not with a configurator but with a conversation — materials on a table in Maranello, a designer assigned to the client, and a specification that evolves over months.
The commission behind VLC—001, the 812 Competizione currently in our collection, ran to eleven pages: exposed carbon weave aligned across panel gaps, Rosso Imola matched to a 1960s sample, stitching in a thread the Atelier had to source specially.
For the collector, the commercial logic is straightforward: bespoke work is the only optioning that reliably survives depreciation. For the owner, the logic is simpler still — the car could not belong to anyone else.
